Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

Council, who took over the building for Council Offices — Lord Ashcombe opened it on 3 December 1931. The council moved out in 1983, and the building was brought back to its original state and re-opened in 1984. Pippbrook House is not to be missed. Oak doors form the entrance to the beautiful building with its ornate painted ceilings, marble fireplaces, carved doors and stained-glass windows. The new library occupies part of the building. The house is known to be haunted.

The Curious Case Of The Missing Tickner Plaque In Dorking High Street

I am trying to find out about my Tickner ancestors who lived in Dorking in the 1700s. In the 1970s a cousin remembers seeing a plaque on a building in the high street that read , 'Thomas Ticker coachbuilder ' and there was a date in the 1700's he can't remember what it was exactly. Hi New Here
Great looking at the old photos of Dorking town . I remember many of the old shops and some pubs from when I was younger, think my favourite at that time was track and groove at the top end of west street and the chippy opposite. I remember the old Tesco and the market entrance ,there used to be a guy there preaching the bible cant remember his name, also going back way before my time does anyone know what was in the high street before boots was there?

Pixham Mill House
My father, Harry Day, was gardener at the house when the Case family lived there. As a small child I remember the huge Christmas Tree in the palatial hall. The beautiful cedar tree in the middle of the lawn and the old potting shed.

Capel Bakery

I was wondering if anyone out there remembers the bakery in capel Surrey ?Were the last owners called Christmas or was there another owner after them ? I've lived in capel all my life ,56 years. Steve redford

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
