My Days In Drayton

A Memory of Drayton.

How nice to read about Drayton. My parents moved here in 1953 and my father owned the chemists shop on the north side of Havant road opposite Lower Drayton lane. In the early 60s,I played in local groups (The Highlanders) and played at the Institute many times. No alcohol, just lemonade and crisps! Other hobbies included carting on the hill and going to the Methodist youth club. Anyone remember Benard Chaprman? All my girl friends were local and we all had a lot of innocent fun. I finished school (Technical high) in 1960,married in 1965 and left Drayton for Cowplain and Horndean.I have many happy memories of the village and still visit on odd occasions although it no longer has the same atmosphere. Shame ! Does anyone think they recognise me? Have a guess!!
