North of Ealing Broadway station is Haven Green, with Victorian villas on its west side and shops to its east. The north side is dominated by Haven Green Court with its green roof tiles, a massive wall of five-storey flats built in 1927-38 and aimed at the London commuter - the flats replaced a large house, The Haven. West from Haven Green the road leads to Castlebar Park, which still retains many of its mid 19th-century villas.

Clifton House 1970's
Worked at Clifton House in the 1970's, it was a few doors down from Police Station, probably where that crane is working, it was Legal & Generals "Golden Mile" (they prob owned office buildings) Clifton House was I suppose name of old house that was pulled down to make way for new office block. Remember Victoria Arms , Walpole Library, walking in park dinnertimes and Daniels in W Ealing.

Ealing1949 To 1963
We moved to Ealing when I was 5 and at 11 I went to NHEHS and we bought the school uniform at Abernethies on the corner of Uxbridge Rd. I loved that area. Next to the taxi rank there was a Polish deli...oh the baked sultana cheesecake. In Uxbridge Rd towards Sanders there was Fullers cake shop, walnut cake there! Les Wilde
I went to Les Wildes on a Tuesday with a friend in the sixties.We walked there from South Ealing.Our favourite dancing partners were Patrick Daley and Alan Carpenter. Good memories from there. Sandra Plummer

Falling In The Water
In the 1950's I used to go here with my brothers. We tried sailing paper boats. The swans were quite aggressive if you got too close to their cygnets. One time I got too adventurous and stepped down the slope, slid on the algae and ended up drenched. I had to walk back to South Ealing Road squelching and feeling very sorry for myself. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
