More about this scene
Here in the far north of the county, 2 miles south of Great Ayton, stands this 'Gentleman's Residence', built in Georgian times for the Emerson family. The estate included a private chapel, but this was closed in 1986. The house itself ceased to be inhabited in 1934, but in recent years it has been renovated back to its former glory.
