More about this scene
The famous Carpet Gardens on Grand Parade were laid out between the pier and the bandstand with intricate patterns picked out in bedding plants and taller plants along the outer beds. On the left is one of the finest stucco terraces in Eastbourne, the Burlington and Claremont Hotels of 1851: worthy of Brighton.
