More about this scene

This place is an anachronism. For years, the village of Edensor used to be within sight of Chatsworth Houe, until the 6th Duke decided it spoilt his view. Thus, it was demolished and rebuilt here, one mile away, in 1839. The church is by Sir George Gilbert Scott (1867) and the whole village is entered through a gate.
