Elmley Castle, c.1955

More about this scene
Elmley Castle is one of those delightful villages lying around the foot of Bredon Hill. Little now remains of the castle itself, once the stronghold of the Beauchamp family. The inn sign features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth on one side and an illustration of her arriving to stay at the inn on the other. It appears she really did sleep here.
