Ann Shakespeare Youngs
A Memory of Epping.
This lady was my auntie married to my dad's brother. She originally lived at Spring House, 62 Bower Hill, Epping and in the fifties my aunt and uncle built their bungalow in the back garden of Spring House, sold Spring House, and lived in the bungalow until their deaths.
Ann Shakespeare Youngs was born at The Spotted Dog Public House in Ivy Chimneys in 1905.
She died in 1998.

I grew up next door to your auntie when she was elderly. She was an amazing lady and I think about her often. Our garden bordered her long driveway, and we moved in in the mid 1980s, when I was about 6, I guess. I visited her once in North Weald after she moved out, but we lost touch and we didn't know when she died. I have a lot of memories of the stories she told (in fact, one of them appears to be on this site for some reason, although I don't remember adding it). Thanks for this information about her. Was Spring House renamed 'St Agnes' or was it knocked down? I lived in Oakleigh rise, built in the early 1980s and don't recall a Spring House.
Best wishes,
Sarah
