Exeter, High Street 1896

More about this scene
We can wlak along the High Street today and pick out most of these buildings, even if the delightfully named Public Benefit Boot Company on the right is more. The portico protruding into the road belongs to the Guildhall, a 13th-century building; the portico itself is Elizabethan.
