Fairhaven, The Lake 1923

More about this scene
The lake is very popular for boating, and its environs now attract barnacle geese flying up the Ribble estuary. Not far from here was a huge sandhill, across from Lord Ashton's bungalow. Nearby was a pond surrounded by willow trees; summer brought the beautiful, brilliant yellow exotic-looking evening primroses, thought to have been carried as seeds from ocean-going ships heading for Lytham Docks.
