I am putting the story of my family history into book form. My great great grandfather Frederick Cross born at Wincanton in 1840, became butler to a series of highly illustrious people including 9th Earl of Coventry, Prince Duleep Sinngh, Lord North, and William Gladstone. His fourth daughter Gertrude, was born in Farnham Suffolk in 1870. Does this clue suggest where he might have been employed then? Two years earlier his daughter Florence had been born at Mildenhall.
