Happy Days

A Memory of Farnham Royal.

I was at Farnham Park in 1975, at that time there was quite a few sportsman there. one or to who
spring to mind Dave Bedford the runner who on occasion would in the evening run down to the fish shop and bring back fish and chips still piping hot much to the annoyance of of the staff.
Paul Cheesly who i believe played football for Bristle City, he instigated the great escape to a disco in Bernham Beaches after lights out, there was about 8 of us , we got back in the we small hours
with out detection. That mornings pr-work was hell
The staff were great ,they made us work hard but only to our injury tolerance , even miss Gerhart
a German physio who we teased that she was a gestapo torturer in the war.Most evenings we would
make our way to the pub on crutches, walking sticks , even wheel chairs, the pub landlord would call sticks and crutches at half nine so we could get back for the ten o clock lock up.
