More about this scene

Frant is 600 feet above sea level and has extensive views. Most of the houses are positioned around the large green where there were once old archery butts. In the 12th century King John had a hunting lodge in the area. The 15th-century church of St Alban was rebuilt in 1822. Iron smelting and gunfounding brought prosperity to the area in the 16th century. Eridge Old Park is a deer park with a large lake; there is also an observatory tower on Saxonbury Hill on the site of an Iron Age hill-fort. Shernfold Park is a Victorian house of 1853. Just off the main through road, H Kemp, Stores and Post Office, is still trading.
