I was evacuated from London in 1939 with my primary school, first to Folkestone Kent, then to Tredegar, Monthmouthshire. After passing the 11+ exam in 1941 sent to Garnant to grammar school, called Addey & Stanhope, which had also been evacuated to Garnant. My mother's family grew up in Garnant, Dyfed.... sister Gwen, brother Victor. I would like to try and trace my relatives and any help would be appreciated. My mother used to tell about the coal tips, a family motorcycle shop and generally growing up in the 1920s but apart from that I have little information.
