Brighton Ave. Senior Boys School.

A Memory of Gateshead.

I attended Brighton Ave. and left in 1959. I had three teachers, the first was Mr ( Basher) Bennet, the second was Mr. Thompson and the third was Mr. Lewis. I was one of Harry Botcherby's specials and can state for certain that there was nothing going on other than him trying to educate us up to GCE standard. I had extra homework (at my parents insistence) and therefore was often alone with HB in his study where nothing inappropriate ever took place. He was somewhat eccentric (but as I and several other boys can vouch) totally harmless.
