Boughton House lies about one and a half miles to the south-east of Geddington. Situated in its own magnificent parkland, the house has been described as the 'English Versailles'. The Duke of Montagu, who lived there, held the post of Ambassador to the Court of Louis XIV, and brought back with him an impressive collection of French furniture and china.
