Crossfield House Children's Home.
A Memory of Gerrards Cross.
I was in Crossfield House Children's Home for 7 years from about 1958 to about 1965.
I loved Gerrard's Cross, the primary school & I loved the village itself. It was fun for me as a young boy out of the slums of London .
I can remember even the smells of country life as opposed to the Smells of London life.
As a child it was nice to play in a proper garden than to play in bombed out buildings of London. It may sound silly but I used to love just walking every school day from our Home, along Packhorse Road through the village to the end where our school was, just by the common. Great memories.
