More about this scene

Two children, perhaps a brother and sister, negotiate the stepping stones across the infant River Goyt downstream from Goyt's Bridge in the peaceful days just before war broke out in Europe. Again, this scene disappeared under the rising waters of the Errwood Reservoir, and will never be seen again.
