Evacue

A Memory of Grange-Over-Sands.

I purchased this photo in a gentlemans clothes shop in Grange-Over-Sands as i believe the two children sitting on the wall could be my mum and uncle who were evacuated there during the second world war,so i wondering if the date could be later!?..The two children one at the front looks as if it could be my mum as she remembers having black plimsoles which is what they look like in the photo and the little girl has the same style haircut as she did back then.you can also make out the girl in the photo is playing with a stick, something my mum remembers doing, you can only just make out someone with fair hair behind, could this be her brother!? My mum also told me that they were looked after by two elderly ladies who both wore black,in the photograph there are two sitting near to them, one looks like she is trying to console the other,as my mum remembers one of them going away for a short time and seemed upset on returning, did she lose someone close to her during the war, What makes this photo more interesting is the white hat who's was it!? the women in black have hats, and my mum has a photo with a white hate shortly after returning home. So could this be taken in the 1940s!?

The dates on images pre 1940 are correct to within 12 months - thanks to Frith staff back then who kept meticulous hand written records. Editor.
