Grange Over Sands, Pleasure Boats 1914

More about this scene
Many of the Morecambe Bay boats had names suggesting that they were bigger vessels, such as the 'Queen Mary' in the foreground -but she predated the Cunarder. She must have been very shallow-drafted to get right in to the shore with her passengers. Knobs at the stern and on the side by the mast suggest that she was also used for fishing and hauled a trawl.
