Goodbye Great Amwell
A Memory of Great Amwell.
Sadly after 47 years for me 52 for my middle brother and 54 for my eldest brother
We say goodbye to Amwell .
One of my fondest memory is when I was about 3\4 years old hay making with my dad my mother and my brothers . collecting the cut grass of the river bank along Amwell Lane My father worked for the Metropolitan Water Board as it was then. So had permission to take it.. loading it up on to the cart and off up to the ponies field to make the stack . it was about the only time we worked together. Also the river bank full of large white daisy .
And in the summer holidays the school pool was open sometimes it was only me there . shame its no longer
