More about this scene
The inscription on the base of this ancient cross tells us that it was renovated and re-erected 'To the glory of God and to commemorate the XIII hundredth year of the re-introduction of Christianity into Britain'. With a 15th-century tower, the church of All Hallows has sweeping views over surrounding country. It is thought that the chancel screen came from Sawley Abbey.
