More about this scene
A peaceful scene away from the bustle of the front. In the hazy distance are the sails of boats. The street is lined with a medley of newly-constructed buildings. Victorian Yarmouth grew out of the efforts of individual speculators, with the consequence that there was no prevailing plan or blueprint to ensure a harmonious townscape, as there would have been in Georgian times.
