A Memory of Harrogate.

Does anyone remember the Saturday dances at the Grand Hotel? I loved the Jazz dances, especially Acker Bilk, The Temperance Seven and others. The dance floor moved and we hopped jived. What a lovely memory!

I well remember the Grand. The dance was downstairs and there was another dance floor upstairs which opened on New Years Eve. Bob Barclays band played regularly ,he came from Yeadon. Once Louis Armstrong was appearing in Bradford and he came and played in the interval with Bob's band.
