Edwin is my grand father with his son David 80yrs old still alive today who is my father. We reside in NZ. My father has fond memories of Harmel House on his return from boarding school. I am starting our family tree. Any information you can share with me would be most appreciated. Tom is my great uncle,
My family were looking for a house in Cheshire and looked around Harmel House. I was only 5 years old ( in 1964) but wanted so much to live there. In the garden was what I believed to be a moat full of dead frogs. I am 56 now and still dream about that house! I wonder if it still exists? I notice from your postings that a family called Sims-Holditch lived there around 1946 and they were musicians. I believe Harmel ...see more
John and Sandra Woolley out of Cartwright Road are relatives to the Hilditches out of the village. Pat Hilditch and Jennifer own Covent Garden Flower Shop on Nantwich Road to this very day. Jennifer is cousin to John Woolley as Jennifer married one of Sid Cummins' boys, young Sid.
I lived in Haslington from 1943 to approximately 1954, it was a great place for a child to grow up. I lived in Cross Rd and my G'ma lived in Fields Rd. I remember the Post Office and Haberdashery next to it, also the Smithy across the road. I could be gone across the fields all day and my family would not have to worry about me. The golf course and surrounding fields were a great place to be, with the stream down ...see more
