A Selection of Memories from Headley

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Headley

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I was born in Headley and attended this school in and in this photo it does not look much different from how I remember it, except there was a tree in the playground that we used to climb. We had to walk up the village green to an annexe for our next class before the junior school. My Mum (and her siblings) also went to this school, she was born and spent the majority of her life in Headley. The school is now an Antique Shop.
I lived in Headley for a short time…. I remember living opposite a few houses and a phone box with a riding school opposite… I remember a friend called Fran… A small youth club… A post office/shop… And somebody called Ian , he had a red van ,used to visit but I think lived in leatherhead or nearby… This was 1969 I was 15 at the time.. Does anyone else remember any of this
The Lych Gate at the entrance to Headley Parish Church (seen at the end of the row of shops) was constructed by local craftsmen and dedicated in 1954. My father as chairman of the Parish Council took part in the Ceremony.
