Olympia Cinema

A Memory of Heath Town.

Every Saturday morning used to walk up over the shroppy bridge and go to the Olympia cinema just off Broad street. For the kids club filmshow. Passed the toilet near railway bridge and past the horse tough on the canal bridge, which is now rebuilt at that Black country living museum.
Used to play over the banks at the top of Inker man street. There was a cycle dirt track there.
There was a chicken farm not far from Causeway lake school with a goat tethered up on a bit of waste ground , got butted on way home once knocked over and result was muddy clothes, that led to a CLI p round the ear when I got home. St Barnabus was where I went to church and was in Choir . Mr Advent was the minister and I think Mr.Lockley was lay preacher. In winter it was freezing, sat in coir stalls with hot water bottle and hooked sermon did not go on too long. There was a Darby and Joan club held at the Congregational church further on. Ah be happy memories.
