A Memory of Hednesford.
When this church was built it caused such a stir. Given the vast amount of mining subsidence in the area, it was constructed on a so-called concrete raft.
Somehow the story got around that there were huge jacks underneath the building to correct any detected ground movement and avoid Hednesford having its own leaning tower! People marvelled at this notion.
Was that all true? I really don't know but it does seem unlikely, unless you know differently!
