A Plumrose Representative Who Called At Whitehaven Buying Group
A Memory of High Harrington.
In the 1960's I used to call on members of Whithaven Buying Group and Take transfer orders for Plumrose Ltd Products. They were famous for their Chopped ham and pork , luncheon meat , bacon grill and many other products. I used to stay at the Waverley Hotel in Tangier St. in Whitehaven. every 6 weeks from Monday night until Thursday Morning. I would like to get in touch with Billy Key Or Jimmy Key who used to make Cumberland Rum Butter at their shop premises in High Harrington. or any of their family. Jimmy and I used to go to St. Bees on a Monday night to a pub there and have a great night out playing darts accompanied with a pint of beer, Afterwards we would return to his home where Mrs Key would lay on a hearty supper. Can anyone help me in my quest please? I used to live in Lancashire but now live in Telford Shropshire where I have lived since 1978 where my job took me at the time.
