Hitchin, Red Hart Hotel Yard 1931

More about this scene
The Red Hart yard in 1931. The public and private bars are on the left. The barn at the end of the yard has been demolished, but otherwise there has been little change. It is claimed that this yard was the site of the last public hanging in Hitchin, though it must be said that there is little or no evidence to support this tradition.
