More about this scene
On the right is the Town Hall, built in 1902 to the designs of South Shields-based architect Fred Rennoldson. The area opposite the Town Hall was redeveloped in the late 1950s by the Arndale Property Trust in association with Shingler Risdon Associates. They built a two-storey shopping centre with two wide malls and covered arcades.
