A Memory of Kenton.

I lived in Woodgrange Avenue Kenton from 1953 till 1967 when i got married and moved to Bletchley where we bought our first house. I remember at the bottom of our road and just around the corner was an Ironmonger shop run by Mr and Mrs Larkin. There were no supermarkets then and we bought our household products there. My mother went shopping most days with her wicker trolley, one day for meat and and fish another for tinned food and another for vegetables etc. Turning left to go up Kenton road towards the cinema, there was Dorothy Perkins shop which only sold lingerie and hosiery then. Crossing over from the cinema and towards the station was my hair dressers, but i can't remember their name. I have lots of memories, too many to mention now but i loved Kenton. Diane Fasham

The hairdresser might have been Duval's, if it was the one near the junction with Draycott Avenue.
