More about this scene
A 'new style' double-decker bus pulls up at the Library bus stop. Piccadilly Buildings, opposite, were designed to harmonise with the Library. This parade of select shops on the left included Coles, selling ladies' dresses, and an off-licence — the Hotel Vaults. A small café catered for those who arrived early for the bus, and who needed to rest their baskets and their feet. The zebra crossing was removed later.
