This is also known as Comberton Hill. The station approach is off to the left in front of the 'Catering' sign. The Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton railway opened on 1 May 1852, and amalgamated in 1863 with the Great Western Railway. The restored Severn Valley Steam Railway is a great tourist attraction - it ran its first public train on 23 May 1970 between Bridgnorth and Hampton Loade. At Kidderminster the Carriage Shed project was completed in 2000 to protect a unique collection of railway carriages.

The old Comberton Hotel is only just visible at the margin right; owned by Len Grove who turned it into flats and opened a betting office on the ground floor and was a well known personality in the town.
