More about this scene

From the elevated position of St Andrew's Church we look down the Aire Valley, where now a dual carriageway leads into Keighley. The old post office, dated 1672, is now a residential cottage, but the Old Smithy, over to the right, is open as a needlework gallery. The cross commemorates those lost in the two wars; just visible, bottom left, are the old stocks. The Leeds-Liverpool canal runs behind the church and crosses this road via an aqueduct.
