The Crescent, Kirkburton - a Memory of Kirkburton.

I was amazed to come across this photograph.
I lived at 7 The Crescent Kirkburton, from 1948 to 1966 and this is a photograph of our house. We lived next door to the Midgeley family and the Tunnicliffe family. David Broadbent lived a couple of doors away.
I went to Highburton School and then to Mirfield Grammar School.
The head teacher at Highburton then was Mr Hampshire. He was a lovely gentle pipe smoker and I learned such a lot from him. Other teachers were Mrs Ashworth and Miss Burdett. It was a very happy School and I loved everything about it- apart from having to drink warm milk in the morning break and eat cabbage for school dinner!.
