Here we see the Grammar School from another angle, looking from East Road back into the city. Being on the far side of the Lancaster Canal from the centre, the school was considered to be out in the country, and the air was good for the boys. The building is still there today; it is now a Grant Maintained school. The tower of St Peter's Roman Catholic Cathedral can be seen in the background.
