Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. More about this scene

Edward Blore also rebuilt the medieval chapel in brick in 1841. The church is away from the present centre of the village and relates more to Latimer Park. George Gilbert Scott, whose uncle had been rector, enlarged it in 1867, adding the apsidal chancel and the octagonal turret and spire. To the north is a housing estate that replaced the army buildings when the National Defence College, based on Latimer House, closed in the 1980s.

My Wife
I was posted to Latimer in 1968 where I met the woman I loved for 53 years. We met on the first day I was posted there, her name was Private Barbara Peckett. I lost her to cancer in October 2022. Latimer was a great posting and all the joint service personnel got on really well. The village was beautiful. I have many fond memories of this place - it was the best posting I had in my 12 years in the Royal Navy.

Happy Days
Posted to JSSC Latimer in 1962. One of the first RAF cooks to arrive and to take over the OR's Mess from the Army. It was my first time on a multi service camp, but not the last. I remember that there were very few buses into Chesham and no transport to the tube station in Little Chalfont. The co op hall in Chesham for the dances 4 times a week and have a few beers in the Lamb over the road, it was a proper 4 ale and spit bar ...see more

Royal Engineers Printing Unit
I was a member of the small printing unit at JSSC during my National Service. Our job was to print the material for the Combined Services Officers course on Atomic Warfare. The Officers were from all the Commonwealth countries and mostly from the higher ranks. The Commandant of the camp was Lt. Col Acland and the Adjutant was a Major Reynolds. Idyllic Time
My army father was posted to the staff college in Latimer after his 3 years in the Korean war. One of the happier parts of my childhood in a lovely little rented cottage adjoining a farm with a big barn where we could play, there were chickens and horses for us to enjoy. Think it was on the road out of Chesham? School was called Longmeadow, and we often went to Chesham to feed the ducks and I also remember the model ...see more

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
