Caption for Laxey, 1894:
A number of cottages in Laxey were built by George William Dumbell, chairman of the Laxey Mining Co, for his miners and their families. He also donated land for a chapel. Dumbell's Row still stands, as do other links with Laxey's mining past; the Station Hotel was once the Mine Captain's house.
