This building, which was part of Leeds University, was designed by T A Lodge and opened in 1951. Its broad tower dominates the city skyline. Frank Parkinson, chairman of Crompton Parkinson and Company, was a student of the Old Yorkshire College in Leeds, and gave a bequest of £200,000 towards the building.
