More about this scene
Loose is situated just south-east of the Medway; it is an unusual village that spills down the hillside towards the valley bottom, and is surrounded by hop and fruit gardens. There is an attractive causeway across the Loose stream which is sometimes covered by flowing water in the winter.?It drove several paper and corn mills in Victorian times.
