A Memory of Lower Stoke.

I lived in Lower Stoke until 1979, my children Melanie, Rachel and Eric Mellor all went to the primary school. They had a lovely childhood roaming the village in safety. We used to go fruit picking and pea picking. It was a lovely place to live. Lynda was Mellor

Hello Lynda, I remember you and Eric very well. Remember the girls too. My mum and dad were Charlie and Jean Gallacher, I have two brothers Peter and Paul. Both parents now passed away, mum in 2001 and dad in 2019. It's lovely to see some of the comments on here names you forget then a post comes on and it brings it all back. I'm retired now but had a good career in law in london. I live in Sevenoaks now but oddly enough I do miss Lower Stoke. If you get this post Lyn please do post back as it would be great to touch base. Wishing you and your family all the very best. Joanne x
I'm visiting Lower Stoke next month (August) to have a look at the house where I was born on the Grain Road, my old village school and maybe have a pint in the Nags Head. That was my dad's favourite watering hole and mine when I was home on leave from the RAF.
I know from looking on Google Earth that much has changed, but the village was my home for the first sixteen years of my life, so am looking forward to journey, which is not to far from where I live in Norfolk.
