More about this scene
This fine study of the Granny's Teeth steps on the Cobb shows the setting of the incident in Jane Austen's novel 'Persuasion' where Louisa Musgrove falls off the wall. Jane Austen visited the town and adored the setting, capturing her enthusiasm in her novel. 'The young people were all wild to see Lyme', she wrote as her characters approached the town.
