Middleton And Elmer In The 1950's

A Memory of Middleton-on-Sea.

I recall walking from Elmer Sands to Middleton in the 1950's and 60's.
The sun was always shining.
My Uncle Frank and Aunt Elsie from Morden in Surrey purchased a small timber chalet at Elmer Close in the early 50's.
We enjoyed spending a week or two at Elmer Sands.
The owners of Marks and Spencer had a big brick home next door and sometimes we played with them on ":the Hard"..
My parents showed us from the street.The luxury homes at Middleton on Sea.
We used to walk from Elmer to Littlehampton along the beach.At Littlehampto we managed to catch "the Rocket"speedboat.
we walked along the beach then return to Middleton by bus walking back to Elmer along Elmer Road.
