My mother was in the WAAFs during WWII. She met my father (an American G.I.) at a dance in Henley. They married in 1944 and after the war, my mother traveled to the United States as a war bride. I was born in Nebraska in April, 1948. In 1951, my mother was aching to visit her parents in England.
