More about this scene
In the early 20th century, Minehead was a genteel resort. With few frosts and plenty of fresh air, it became a fashionable wintering place, especially for convalescents and invalids. The Queen's Hall opened in 1914 with the London show 'Oh, I say', and in 1930, screened 'Disraeli', the first 'talkie' to be seen in Minehead.
