My mother lived at 7 Church Steps with her grandmother Jenny? Pinkham during WW2 when she was despatched there for safe keeping from London. Her grandmother had moved there from Wales after the untimely demise of her husband down pit. She had a gentlemen friend called Grandfather Floyd. I see Floyd was the name of a substantial store in town and am guessing is a Somerset name.
Ma remembers sitting on that step and admiring the view.
