More about this scene

If you are a fan of open markets, Moreton on a Tuesday is your birthday and Christmas all rolled into one! The broad High Street seethes with bargain hunters in search of, well, anything from five pounds of braising steak to 'a genuine antique Victorian commode in walnut with inlaid stringing.' It is one of the biggest markets in the country with up to 300 stalls, and for the day the town's population is doubled.

A Selection of Memories from Moreton-in-Marsh

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Moreton-in-Marsh

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

my aunt and uncle Harry and Marjorie had the shop Strong bros, we would visit them in school hols, help with the cricket teas. strange the shop now sells fossels. I remember taylor sitting crossed legged on the floor.
I paid a visit here one rainy day in August 2012. A quaint little town where nothing much has changed apart from the motor vehicles.
