This scene is little altered today. Billy Hole, whose newsagent's, stationer's and tobacconist's shop we see on the left, was an interesting character. As well as running this shop, he also operated a travel business catering 'for private party outings'. Billy Hole was a former Welsh soccer international who signed for Llanelli FC from Swansea Town during the latter stages of his career in 1929.

The Seaman family lived at the house in the centre of the photo with the petrol pumps alongside the house. George Seaman lived here with his wife Lillian and ran the business. His 3 sons were born at the house and later lived and worked in the family transport business. They continued in the business until George passed away, the sons later setting up haulage business TSP Transport based in Skewen. The sons ...see more
