More about this scene
A fisherman's life was hard, even when the weather was kind: in 1872 William Munday, coxswain of the Mullion lifeboat, and his crew of three were lost on a fine spring day when their boat foundered in sight of Porthleven harbour. The loss 'cast a deep gloom over the whole of the community in which the unfortunate deceased resided'.
